  1.  We are delighted that two of our projects have been shortlisted for the Institute of Outdoor Learning national awards. Our Breeze Forest School project led by our Education Manager Harriet Menter,  in the research category and our Elderberries project led by Leanne Defty our Wellbeing  Garden Officer in the Lifelong Learning category.   1. Please join us for a family fun day at Denton Dene on Saturday 17th November from 10.30am to 1.30pm. We will be on the field down the hill behind the sports centre. We are very pleased that Baywings Falconry will be bringing along their beautiful birds of prey, there will be a chance to plant trees, help with litter picking, and also our usual woodland games, art and crafts.   1.  As part of our Wildlife Superheroes Project we are collecting your hedgehog sightings. If you have seen a hedgehog in Newcastle or Gateshead please let us know by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.with the place, time and date and she will input the data into Environmental Records North East (ERIC) to help build up a picture of the local hedgehog population.
